What Q3 2026 has been about
Three structural threads dominate the desk's Q3 2026 file. One: the A321XLR finally lands its first real wave of carrier deployments — Iberia's Madrid-Latin America thin-trunk grid, American's JFK transcons and JFK-Edinburgh inaugural, Aer Lingus's Dublin-Indianapolis / Dublin-Cleveland expansion, and United's Newark-Edinburgh summer launch. Two: the Aeromexico–Delta antitrust immunity expires January 1, 2026, and the US-Mexico premium-cabin market re-prices through summer 2026 as both carriers compete on the same metal without coordinated capacity. Three: the Allegris rollout at Lufthansa, the SWISS Senses A350-900 entry into service, and the ITA Airways absorption into the Lufthansa Group all hit operational milestones inside Q3.
